Description: This dataset contains fish occurrence data that was collected by different individuals at different times, and mostly from Malawi inland rivers, such as Bua and Linthipe. This data was extracted from academic research thesis, and published papers.

Purpose: The core aim of this data is to enable various stakeholders from both public and private sectors have adequate fish data that can promote conservation practices over the critically endangered river-line fish species of Malawi such as Labeo mesops

Temporal Scope: This dataset temporal scope ranges from 1975-2010

Methodology: Study extent - ongoing biodiversity project Sampling - Observation of species Quality control- All records are validated by biological experts from stakeholder organisation and project staff
